Jim’s old partner, Detective Samantha Harper (Natalia Cigliuti), tracks a serial killer from their old stomping ground to sunny Florida. Matt Passmore describes Jim’s relationship with Samantha saying “she represents that one person who broke your heart.” The case of the “Northside Strangler” is one that Jim and Sam worked on when he was still in Chicago and now it has followed him to his new home. As the two old partners work together to catch the killer before he strikes again their undeniable chemistry does not go unnoticed by Callie. Colleen offers Callie a forensic nursing position with the FDLE which she accepts. Share

'THE GLADES' Season Two Premieres Tonight on A&E!

Tonight, The long awaited Season two premiere of the hit A&E original scripted drama series “The Glades,” starring Matt Passmore, Kiele Sanchez, Carlos Gomez and Michelle Hurd premieres Sunday, June 5 at 10PM ET/PT. The second season will feature thirteen one-hour episodes.

In its first season, “The Glades” became the most-watched drama series in network history, averaging 3.1 million total viewers. These ratings propelled A&E to ad-supported cable’s number one network on Sunday nights among total viewers.

In “The Glades,” Matt Passmore stars as Jim Longworth, an attractive and brilliant Chicago homicide detective with a reputation for being difficult. When his captain wrongfully accuses him of sleeping with his wife and shoots him, he is exiled and forced to relocate. He lands in the sleepy, middle-of-nowhere town of Palm Glade, outside of the Florida Everglades, where sunshine and golf are plentiful and crime is seemingly at a minimum. But Longworth soon finds out this town isn’t quite as idyllic as he originally thought, when murders keep piling up. Each case pulls Longworth off the golf course and reluctantly into his element as one of the sharpest homicide detectives to wear a badge.

In the season premiere on A&E, the daughter of a notorious Cuban mobster turns up dead in a Little Havana alley, and Longworth and the rest of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement must solve her murder to prevent an all-out war between two rival mob families. Meanwhile, Callie (Kiele Sanchez) prepares for her husband’s release from prison.

'The Glades' set to premiere June 5

If you haven’t yet tuned into this up and coming cop drama starring Matt Passmore (Jim Longworth) and Kiele Sanchez (Callie Cargill) now is the time to play catch up. The new season is set to premiere on Sunday June 5 at 10/9C on A&E.

Jim is an overly persistent homicide detective with some serious crime solving intuition. He was unexpectedly relocated to Florida after his captain in Chicago shot him and accused him of sleeping with his wife. Callie is a nurse, med school student, and totally devoted mother to 12 yr old Jeff with a husband in prison. When last we saw these two things were just starting to get interesting in their are they or aren’t they romance. After a night together long anticipated by fans of the show the happy bubble was burst with a phone call from Callie’s incarcerated husband, Ray, announcing his early release from prison. Where does this leave Jim and Callie? Well only time and this upcoming season will tell. Add into the mix Jim’s ever present wisecracking, love of golf, and his comedic relationship with partner and medical examiner Carlos Sanchez (Carlos Gomez) you’ve got a quickly emerging cable hit on your hands.

What do we have to look forward to in season two? In a “What’s New in Season 2” video posted on A&E’s official site Matt Passmore states that “the action is ramped up a bit…the stakes have definitely become higher, the danger is more immediate.” Jordan Wall, who plays 23 yr. old Daniel Green, sums it up nicely by saying “We’re throwing some jalapeños into ‘The Glades’ burrito.” In the official season two trailer executive producer Gary A. Randall promises “We’re making it a little edgier, we’re giving Jim slightly more complex criminals to go up against.” All in all sounds promising. Share
