Before “The Glades“, here’s a Red Carpet Interview of Kiele Sanchez from ‘A PERFECT GETAWAY‘ Premiere.
Kiele Sanchez plays a woman who can handle herself in the outdoors in ‘A Perfect Getaway‘ directed by David Twohy. Looking absolutely gorgeous – and nothing like the outdoorsy character she plays in the film – Sanchez chatted up about ‘A Perfect Getaway.‘

Kiele Sanchez: A Perfect Getaway
Newlyweds Cliff (Steve Zahn) and Cydney (Milla Jovovich) are enjoying a perfect honeymoon in Hawaii — until they run into a pair of menacing hikers, Nick (Timothy Olyphant) and Gina (Kiele Sanchez). As it turns out, the two are dangerous killers who begin stalking the not-so-happy couple.
There is a lot about this film that not many people will actually accept upon first look; This is a suspenseful/psychological thriller, that in ways works.
The first two acts, I will say are very dull. There is some nice camp here and there, but there’s not that much drama to keep you interested with this film, and with its characters. And although the atmosphere kind of works, it never goes the extra mile, to keep your attention fully on the screen.
The film also promises to be so much smarter than your ordinary, thriller pick, but instead, turns into one, that doesn’t do much other than show the over-zealous, bloody violence that we basically see in all films of this nature. As things get all ‘First Blood’ in the end, the cinematography and the editing go hog wild as well, trying out some fancy stuff that works. I admit, I got pumped by the look and the action….and I almost forgot how forgettable the rest of the film was compared to Kiele Sanchez. (more…)
I’ve had a crush on Milla Jovovich since I first saw her in prancing around in her underwear in the 90s film Kuffs. So I was surprise how little interest I had in watching her movie A PERFECT GETAWAY when I saw the previews in theaters. However, with nothing to do on a Thursday night and having just watched a trailer for Milla’s soon to be released RESIDENT EVIL sequel. Man was I surprise how much i enjoyed it.
My expectations could not have been lower. I was expecting something dull and cheesy along the lines of I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER. Instead it turned out to be an on the edge of your seat thriller. I was expecting lots of cheesy gore and special effects, and stead it had some amazing cinematography and some great action sequences. All and all, I was really impressed.
Even more surprising was how drastically Kiele Sanchez (Lost, The Glades, Dark Days) out shined her co-stars Timothy Olyphant (Justified, Hitman, Deadwood), Steve Zahn (Management, Rescue Dawn, That Thing You Do!) and my dream girl Milla Jovovich (Kuffs, 5th Element, Resident Evil). Both Steve Zahn and Timothy Olyphant have some serious acting chops. Even more surprising than that was how much drooling I was doing over Keile, pronounced Kee-lee, despite the fact that just about every on screen moment she had she was side by side with Milla – I think the southern accent helped in the hotness department.
This is one of those who done it thrillers, set in the tropical jungles of the Hawaiian Islands. The characters are palatable, there are lots of quotable lines, the story sucks you in, the cinematography is stunning thanks largely to the setting, and the surprise ending will actually surprise you even if you sort of kind of guessed who the killer was (which most people won’t be able to do).
In any case, if you have not seen it, or if you thought you did not want to see it because the trailer made it look like a cheesy horror flick, then you might want to give it a watch. I think you’ll be surprised – and not just because the female

A Perfect Getaway is much like a disappointing rollercoaster ride – it runs along a lengthy plateau until finally climbing to the peak and then quickly descending to an unsatisfactory conclusion.
Cliff (Steve Zahn) and Cydney (Milla Jovovich) are honeymooning in Hawaii when they hear of a grisly murder nearby of another pair of newlyweds. Hiking a secluded jungle trail to a remote beach, they choose to join another couple (Timothy Olyphant and Kiele Sanchez) rather than run back to civilization. Eventually things begin to go horribly wrong and a brutal fight for survival ensues deep in the heart of paradise. (more…)
